First -- a huge thank you to everyone who joined us!
Why Building Blocks?
The fundamental reason is that we are a little crazy, or maybe it's just me and Collider has to put up with it. But on a more serious note, we had two main goals in mind:
Show the massive local tech community that Web3 has incredible opportunities for innovation and value creation in the coming years. We believe the crypto ecosystem needs the Israeli mind -- the approach to problem-solving, the disposition to not only think outside the box but to completely throw it away, and the determination to build despite seemingly insane obstacles.
Demonstrate to the worldwide Web3 community that Israel is a force to be reckoned with. That the next wave of startups, novel research, and technological breakthroughs will come from people who met at Building Blocks. For more proof of this, feel free to check out the Israeli ecosystem report.
Despite some wild challenges including actual rockets and alarms we believe we achieved these goals. The community showed up stronger than ever, and feedback was great. Mike's tweet perfectly encapsulates the resilient spirit. Bullish.
By the Numbers
Let's compare Building Blocks 2025 (BB25) to our previous event, Building Blocks 2023 (BB23), which took place in February 2023. Note that we did not hold a BB24 event in 2024 due to the war.

The Content
We've tried to make the talks and panels focused on those who are building. Sharing their journeys and talking about the challenges and differences compared to building in Web2.
We also asked some difficult questions like where did Ethereum go wrong? With Eric Sui, Ameen Solimani, Eva Beylin, and Jeremy Millar.

We even talked about the practicality of how to launch a token and not get rekt

One of my favorite panels was "Time is Flat Circle" where legit veterans, Lou Kerner, Matt Kummell, our very own Adam Benyoun, Michael Amar, and Odelia Torteman, talked about the fascinating parallels between web3's current journey and the evolution of mobile and the early internet.
Let me paraphrase: "Technology evolves, humans do not"

Another notable appearance is a special guest I consider a friend by now, Eric Weinstein. Eric came to share some of his deep insights about building trust-less systems in a world that is rapidly losing trust. What are the implications of using such systems? Are they the cure or a catalyst?

There were many many more sessions and talks which we will upload to the website and youtube soon.
Final words
To everyone who traveled from abroad, especially during such uncertain times, thank you for your courage, commitment, and belief. Your presence and participation means a lot.
Finally, a huge thank you once again to
The incredible sponsors who, more than just business reasons, sponsored the event and made this happen in order to support the local ecosystem.
The amazing production team, FaZa, who handled all the unexpected stuff with startup level resilience.
My Partners and team at Collider who also created an 80 page Israeli ecosystem report and visual representation of all companies in the ecosystem
The Cohen brothers (not those ones) for their awesome work on our design and website.
And a special, huge thanks to Fanny, Elad, Ishay, Yali, the amazing volunteers team: Liad, Yosef, Itai, itamar, Osher, the Mamram Alumni crew, and the entire behind-the-scenes team whose tireless efforts brought this vision to life.

Thank you for being part of this extraordinary event. We can't wait to see you next year—bigger, bolder, and brighter.

Stay safe, stay inspired, and keep building!
